PAINT
Well, it’s here. My first book. It only took twenty years and eight weeks.
My eyelids are drooping as I write this. More than anything, I feel relief and the urge to sleep. My book is out early; Amazon approved it faster than I expected, and you can get yours now!
When I wrote Paint, I wanted something fun. Something with a good man in it, and a woman’s desire. Things that I wasn’t seeing, but lusted after. I definitely got that out of the story.
I am ordering inventory, and I’m happy to say that I scored an LCCN number! So next week, I’ll be working on seeing what I can do to get this in bookstores and libraries. In any case, it’s available. It’s real. And it feels really soft (matte finish was a must).
Enjoy this toasty autumn read, my friends. I made it for you.
And if you like it, maybe leave a review ;)
PAINT, my debut novel
About to hit another landmark with the publication of my first print book, and as usual, I am so wrapped up in trying to execute the thing that I barely have a moment to realize its significance.
Despite being a planner, I tend to be a bit of a hermit about upcoming work. I gather the assets privately, fill a dozen notebooks and forget about sharing completely until the last minute, when external circumstances remind met that the thing has to be published, or distributed, or whatever. Then I commit and inevitably give myself a ridiculously short amount of time to do things the way that I want.
That’s probably for the best, since I would overthink any launch, given the time. I put so much into my private screening of Delta Phi in so little time that most of the RSVPs did not come.
And now all I can think about is trying to redo this website, which I don’t have the time to do. Does it look like an author website? Does it act like one? Can I afford to change hosts after eight years of loading content onto this one? (Squarespace does not make it easy to change over =.=)
All to avoid the real issue, which is to keep writing the next time while I’m doing this launch, and the ensure that my content model is still rolling forward.
I am especially excited about the sequel to Paint! It is my first time writing a sequel and I am gathering notes. Thanks to everyone for the outpouring of support on Instagram and Youtube. There’s more to come.
